Created especially for on-air news & sports broadcasting, announcing & interviews, this rugged stereo headset offers natural, highly intelligible and focused vocal reproduction, closed-back circumaural (around the ear) ear cups to seal out background noise, and a high-output dynamic mic mounted on a flexible gooseneck boom. The headset's mic has a cardioid polar pattern tailored for pickup of speech with maximum voice intelligibility over a wide range of frequencies. It is more sensitive to sound originating directly in front of the element, making it useful in reducing pickup of unwanted sounds. New Warranty for A-T 40-Series Mics : 5 Years!

Audio Technica is extending the warranty on its entire acclaimed line of 40 Series microphones. Effective immediately, all 40 Series microphones now come standard with a 5-year warranty. Purchases from authorized dealers, going back to January 1, 2009, are also covered retroactively by this extended warranty.

Included in the warranty are the recently unveiled AT4080 and AT4081 Bidirectional Active Ribbon Mics, AT4050ST Stero Condenser Mic and AT4047MP Mutli-pattern Condenser Mic, which debuted to much excitement earlier this fall. Also covered are classic 40 Series models such as the AT4040 Cardioid Condenser Mic and the AT4050 Multi Pattern Condenser Mic, among many others.

A-T's AT4047MP delivers vintage sound in a multi-pattern design with selectable omnidirectional, cardioid, and figure-of-eight polar patterns. The microphone's transformer-coupled output and specially tuned element provide sonic characteristics reminiscent of early F.E.T. studio microphone designs.

Offering the realism of a live sound field, the AT4050ST is a side-address condenser with cardioid and figure-of-eight elements configured in a Mid-Side arrangement. This innovative stereo condenser allows sound recordists the choice of selecting a left-right stereo output or choosing discreet Mid-Side signals for later manipulation, a remarkable flexibility.

BP892 Subminiature Headworn Mic

Audio Technica's high SPL BP892 MicroSet offers the ultimate in low-profile, high performance audio. Delivering clear and accurate sound in an inconspicuous package, the BP892 ultra-lightweight subminiature omnidirectional condenser headworn mic hooks securely behind either ear and can be worn for hours without fatigue.

The BP892 features a flat, extended frequency response and an extremely intelligible, natural audio for stage and television telent, lecturers and houses of worship. Protected by a highly durable Parylene coating, it is built to stand up to the rigors of day-to-day use.

The BP892 is inconspicuous with its capsule diameter of just 2.6mm so it is ideal for applications requiring minimum visibility. Its ergonomic under-ear design is flexible and ultra-secure which is a comfortable fit with or without glasses.

A high-pass filter on the power module provides a steep low-frequency attenuation to improve sound pickup without affecting voice quality.

The BP892, in black or beige ("theatre" colour) includes at AT8539 power module, but many other variations are available, for wired, or wireless applications with or without a power module, unterminated or terminated for use with A-T or other brand wireless transmitters.

Audio Technica on The Tour de France!

Camera operators on the back seats of motorcycles shadowed this year's 2,200 mile race from the start to finish, creating an exciting soundbed along the way. TV viewers saw and heard hundreds of racers during the month of July. Audio Technica AT835ST M-S stereo shotgun mics were mounted to the cameras on five motorcycles covering the miles-long pack of racers. The audio, embedded with the video signal, was sent via low-power broadcast to a pair of helicopters and two circling airplanes. They, in turn, relayed the signals to three ground relays in trucks, which sent it via satellite or terrestrial links to OB vans located near the finish line.
